Sometimes life gives you reasons to be optimistic. I was exiting the car wash in the small town I live near. This kid was walking down the sidewalk with his backpack and fishing pole strapped on his back. Yes he was looking at his device. But I can relate to this kid SO much.

I hear so much about how kids don’t do anything, they’re hopelessly stuck on screens or don’t go outside. That may be true, but I don’t know that’s as pervasive as we’re led to believe. Optimism says at least this young man is not sitting at home in front of his Xbox and he got out to go fishing.
